Helping People Who Need It

At Mount Olive Baptist Church, we are committed to reflecting Biblical principles by serving those in need, knowing that faith becomes real through action. Scripture consistently calls us to care for others, showing that helping the vulnerable aligns with God’s heart.

In Matthew 25:35-40, Jesus reveals that our care for others—feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick—is service to Him. This passage emphasizes that true discipleship is demonstrated through compassionate acts. Christ teaches that our relationship with God is inseparable from our treatment of those in need.

The model for this kind of care is found in Acts 2:44-45, where the early church lived in unity, sharing everything. This radical generosity was not just material but reflected a deep sense of community, reminding us that no one is truly alone in the body of Christ. At Mount Olive, we seek to embody this spirit by sharing our resources and ensuring that everyone’s needs are met.

Galatians 6:9-10 further encourages us not to become weary in doing good: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” This verse teaches us that helping others requires perseverance and intentionality, even when it feels overwhelming or unnoticed.

Mount Olive Baptist Church aims to be a reflection of Christ’s love, ensuring that everyone who walks through our doors or connects with our ministry’s experiences compassion, dignity, and hope. From feeding the hungry to counseling the hurting, we are dedicated to making God’s love tangible. As the Apostle James reminds us in James 2:17, “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” Our faith comes alive when we engage in meaningful service, working together to uplift individuals, families, and communities.

Join us as we strive to be a church that embodies the heart of God, bringing light to a world in need through acts of love, generosity, and service.
